I left my mother in St. Vincent at the age of 12 to come and live with my father here in Barbados. Since then, I went back in 1995 for the first time. I'd like to see my Mum again but I cannot afford to send or go, because I'm trying to buy a home for my children.

She was here for 14 days because she was ill, she had an operation in 1995. It was a lot of money. She's not very well, sometimes she still get's pain. I call her all the time. I'm the oldest of the girls. I have three children age 4, 13, 16, and with house and land its not easy. When I heard about this over the radio I said to myself, let me try and see if I can win this.
